Australian Native Finches

Yesterday, there were some cute, little Double-barred finches flitting about my garden and I managed to get close enough to get a couple of good photos. In my next finch clip art series I will make sure to include these cuties!

It may be apparent that I am obsessed with finches right now, and I especially love the Chestnut-breasted mannikin – its colours are so gorgeous and it looks like some kind of vanilla, caramel and chocolate fluff ball! Click on the link if you’d like to purchase my new finch clip art as a digital download.

Gouldian Finches

Where I live in Australia is home to the beautiful Gouldian Finch. Most Gouldian finches have a black face, around 25% have a red face, but every now and then a rare yellow-faced finch will occur.

It is one of the most colourful birds in the world but, unfortunately, is endangered – with only around 2,500 mature birds existing in the wild. It would be incredibly sad to see such a beautiful, little creature disappear.

I have made my art available to purchase as clipart or as a sticker in my Etsy Store.

I will be creating lots more finch art in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned!
