Black cat has the best view in the house. Looking out over the river and hills on a warm tropical day,. She’s enjoying the breeze and the smells of citrus as the wind gently rocks the orange and lemon trees.

Aries, Gemini and Scorpio
I am currently designing my own interpretations of the Sun Signs. So far, I have created Aries, Gemini and Scorpio. Each sign also has their associated flower incorporated into the drawing; for Aries it is the thistle, Gemini is lavender, and Scorpio is the geranium. I chose limited palettes, using colours that represent each sign — bold reds and oranges for the determined Aries, whimsical purples, greens, blues and yellows for the playful Gemini, and dark, rich colours to reflect the intensity of Scorpio (my Sun Sign). The insects somehow found their way into the drawings too, and I decided to let them to stay (I think they’re there for the flowers). Just nine more to go, this is going to be fun!

These are some cute vector girls I drew recently. The bottom one was inspired from a design by Charly Clements, which in turn inspired the top drawing. I love working with a fixed colour palette because I find it far too easy to go completely overboard with colour!
Fun with Acrylics!
I bought some half-fancy brushes when I was feeling down one day with the thought that I would give painting a real go this time. I have dabbled over the years but always hated everything I did and would give up (for a short time and then would try again).
I’ve really been trying to stop expecting everything to be perfect when I paint. I’m learned to loosen up and just let things flow and turn out… however they turn out! I think, because I have mostly done digital art, it is hard to let go of that control and perfectionism. So, here are a couple of paintings I have done over the last few weeks. Let me know what you think!
